"A group calling itself the "Iraq Islam Army" says it has attacked a vehicle of Japanese troops in Iraq's southern city of Samawa and killed four troops.
It made the claim in a statement posted on its website.
Japanese Defence Agency spokeswoman says there is "no truth" in the claim."
