I need help locating some old BBC broadcasts...

Movies, TV, music, anime other random J-pop culture phenomenons. Also film/video production, technical discussion, cast and crew calls, etc.

I need help locating some old BBC broadcasts...

Postby American Oyaji » Wed Jan 18, 2006 11:59 pm

Specifically,

I am looking for the BBC 6 hour radio program of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and the BBC 13 hour program of "The Lord of the Rings".

I am trying to find them for sale someplace and haven't had much luck.

They are both on Amazon UK:

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Complete Radio Series

The Lord of the Rings: "The Fellowship of the Ring", "The Two Towers", "The Return of the King" (BBC Radio Collection)

Well, the UK site might not prove to be the best place to get them. Sometimes, though, they get discontinued as the BBC prepares to repackage them and re-release them but it looks like these ones are still in general release.

It looks like barnes and nobel's online branch - bn.com -carries some of the items you're looking for (I bought one of the more recent HHGG's radio shows there last year)...It doesn't look like the have all the LOTR titles...You might want to give Ebay a shot too...I suspect there are quite a few various editions of these items floating out there and the newest ones may or may not be the versions you're looking for.

If you prefer the direct method, the prices at the BBC's own site might be a bit better than AmazonUK for the LOTR three title box set..a mere 65 pounds.

The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak.
