US Seaman Found in Japanese Junior High

MDN wrote:Japanese police arrested a U.S. sailor who was found trespassing in a junior high school early Wednesday, a police official said.

James Arlon Baker, 21, was arrested at the school in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, said a local police spokesman ...

Baker apparently set off an alarm after entering a school building through an unlocked window shortly after midnight, Miura said. Police responding to the alarm found Baker wandering around the school grounds and arrested him for illegal entry, he said.

It was not clear why he had entered the school.

... Earlier this month, a sailor was arrested in Yokosuka after allegedly robbing and murdering a woman. Senior U.S. defense and Navy officials apologized for that incident. (AP)

Not to be confused with the former US Secretary of State James Addison Baker.

Christ almighty you would have thought that the US navy would have learnt to be keeping their heads down after the recent trouble they've had. They must be starting to sh&t themselves now with this incident now - wouldn't surprise me if he gets in sh*t too with the police.

Good grief... It just never ends does it?...

Seems like most of the military crime comes from over here on Okinawa so it's kind of interesting seeing back to back crime in Yokosuka.

For some reason, I read the title as Japanese Seaman found dead in Japanese Junior High.

But yeah. This guy needs his chimes rung. You can bet his command will be making an example out of his ass.
I will not abide ignorant intolerance just for the sake of getting along.

Hardly. They'll probably enact another base curfew which will do next to nothing except piss off everyone else on the base.

That's what they do on Okinawa.

I hate the image these dipsticks give the rest of us non-military Americans living in Japan (especially on Okinawa).

How about they tag all the US Navy, Marines, Jockarse's so the Japanese government know where they all are at any given time?

AP: US sailor arrested on suspicion of robbery in Japan
A US sailor was arrested on suspicion of robbing a woman in southwest Japan, police said Sunday, only weeks after another sailor was arrested on charges of fatally beating and robbing a woman near Tokyo. The 23-year-old crew member of the USS Essex, based at the US naval base in Sasebo, is suspected of snatching a bag from a woman in Sasebo city at about 11:20 p.m. Saturday...Police arrested him shortly after midnight Sunday elsewhere in the city, based on a physical description from the victim, Sasaki said. The suspect has admitted to the robbery, telling investigators he later threw the bag away, Sasaki said. There was no cash in the stolen bag. The woman tripped when she chased her robber, but was unhurt.
