Need Advice Urgently

Postby barelyup » Thu Feb 06, 2003 3:34 pm

So here's the deal,
I recently recieved several threatening emails from someone I knew 2 years ago, accusing me of taking drugs and she then threatened to inform the police. Today the police arrived at my house where they questioned my roommate as to my where abouts. I haven't been home yet and I'm wondering what I should do. Can the police require me to take a drug test? Is it enough to be accused by someone for me to be arrested? What are my rights in this situation? Should I go to my embassy?
Anyone with advice or know of similar situations please let me know.
Sincerely
Stalker victim.

If you have no drugs at your home and none in your possession go home and relax. You can't be arrested without an arrest warrant being issued and that has to be for a crime that has been committed.

Assuming your visa and gaijin toroku are in good order you can simply ask the police what they want. If they do not have a warrant and you do not want to answer any question tell them to leave. Have two witnesses present at all times (your roommate and a friend - Japanese if possible)

If they are acting upon some information given to them by this other person tell them she is a former friend but you broke off the relationship because of her heavy drinking and constant lying. Don't talk to much - just tell them that and shut up.

-You can't be forced to take a drug test unless you committed a crime and even then a judge has to make a special order.
-Embassies do not get involved - generally they give you the number of a lawyer and leave it at that.

Stay in touch.

I'd call the cops on your friend. then I would put the stash in her mailbox, drop box, throw it up on her balcony (if she has one), tape it to the underside of her car bumper, and tell the police that you know for a fact that she hides it there...
That should nail her ass pretty hard.
