I have a hunch the agency had decided his downwardly directional career move was well in motion before the alleged attack. If they thought representing him was going to continue to be profitable, I am pretty darn sure the police never would have been called, no matter what happened in the office.

BTW, Japanese press says Bobby is worth -- regardless of shady managerial dealings -- about 4千万円 per annum. We should all be so unfortunate...

Bobby Strikes Back

Postby djgizmoe » Sat Jan 28, 2006 7:44 am

My friend heard Mina Monta made some lame-ass comment on how he hadn't realized how old Bobby was (39) especially because of "his dark suntan" and thought it was pretty racist. I guess I've been here so long I don't even consider that kind of shite offensive anymore.

The saddest thing is I can read the kanji on milQuetoast's avatar, whereas I have trouble guessing the characters for my own wife's name...

Sometimes its hard to tell if they are being racist or trying to be funny.

Hey the kanji thing goes for everyone - i cant write my own address but i know how to read and write "Imperial House hold law propsed amendment" etc
It never makes sense to me which Kanji sticks in your head and what doesnt.

Formally "charged" in a country with a 97% conviction rate. Hmmmm....

Celebrity Bobby Ologun faces charges for beating up agency president
Mainichi, February 16, 2006
Police on Thursday reported celebrity Bobby Ologun to prosecutors on suspicion of assault after he allegedly attacked the president of his talent agency in January.
Ologun is suspected of shoving the 55-year-old president to the ground at the agency's office in Tokyo's Shibuya-ku on Jan. 25.
During questioning, Ologun, 39, said he had trouble with the president over payment for a job.

The conviction rate is versus indictments. If you are indicted you've got a 97% chance of getting convicted. It's the old story of we gotta look good. That is that the procurator will not indict on a case if he has a chance of loosing it. They will only take open and shut cases into court.

However, all police investigations are referred to the procurator for disposition and that's what they are saying in this incidence. If the the procurator does not indict, it's all over and the case is dropped (in almost all incidents). The police can pursue it if they so desire, but usually will not unless directed by the procurator to dig up (I didn't say manufacture) more evidence.
