Ridiculous. Yves Klein was doing this sort of work back in the 1950s, he called it "Anthropometry." Back in the 50s it was scandalous and cutting edge art, another "artist" doing it today is merely plagiarism. At least Klein had the courtesy to use washable paint on his models, the Japanese models will be surprised to discover that sumi takes about a week to come out of your skin.

Klein was an interesting fellow. He lived in Japan for a couple of years, and obtained a black belt in Judo. As a performance artwork, and to prove his expertise in Judo, he claimed he jumped from a height of 10 feet right onto his belly and was uninjured. But nobody believed him or his witnesses, so he did it again in front of a camera, and was horribly injured. His health was ruined and he died at a young age.

It's a regular event wherever it was taken. If you've heard of it being in Hachinohe then that's probably the place.

Well, I lived in Hachinohe and I remember seeing that taking place outside the public auditorium one winter.
