Ishihara to run for 2nd term: Yomiuri
Feb. 12 - Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara has decided to run for a second four-year term in the April 13 gubernatorial election, the Yomiuri Shimbun reported Wednesday.

The highly popular, Gov. Shintaro "Blinky" Ishihara wants you all gaijin to be on notice that: "Atrocious crimes have been committed again and again by sangokujin and other foreigners. We can expect them to riot in the event of a disastrous earthquake."

Hey, I'd love to use that time machine to see who dropped him on his head.

Tonikaku...At least he won't be shooting for the PM slot any time soon:
Ishihara-led party unlikely in current political climate

Moves to create a conservative political party led by Tokyo Gov. Shintaro Ishihara have waned markedly in recent months...

....It was once predicted that a party led by Ishihara would be able to rally as many as 100 legislators from the LDP and Minshuto.

That now appears unlikely.

From the beginning, the idea of creating an Ishihara party was tied to the LDP's desire to create a supplementary political group to help it retain power. What is really needed today, however, is a method to invigorate party organizations with a view to reconstructing the nation's conservative political scene.

An Ishihara-led party most likely would be an ephemeral flower in a chaotic phase of party politics.

Well, at least Kan is willing to go against the Blinky Beast 666.

Kan: We're going to challenge Ishihara
The governor is an iron-clad certainty, but he faces a fight.

With Tokyo's gubernatorial election due in April, opposition leader Naoto Kan's suggestion that his party might field a candidate against incumbent Shintaro Ishihara has raised eyebrows in political circles.

And? Where are all those riots? Just wondering.

the conbinis in my 'hood were looking like they'd been looted tonight. Only things left were these pink spam like fillets of some mystery processed meat product.

I flagrantly flouted the law by consuming not one, but TWO beers out on the street as I hiked home Friday night.

Oh wait, drinking in public isn't even illegal here. Back to the drawing board.
I have a blog. Last update: August 18, 2013.
