Hello All. Nice board with lots of useful information. I have been in Japan for 5 years now. Not sure how long I will be here, though. Looking forward to enjoy and contribute to this board.

Thanks for the greeting. I live in the hottest part of Australia and we have tropical weather, so I am used to the hot sticky climates. Today it was 44deg C and 85% humidity and it wasn't a bad day at all by our standards.. So I am hoping that I should be able to handle it, but I could still be wrong.

Of course I am sure that there is ways to cool down, or drown the weather out..

Chotto otakuden-kun! 5 o'clock is when Japanese just start thinking about doing real work .(except today because it's the Boy's Day holiday). Stick around and waste more company time like a good Japanese. .:p

No, Girls day (literally, "Doll Festival") is March 3rd, and Boy's Day is May 5th.

GG, I am astounded by your failure to use proper grammar in this instance. Aren't you aware that the rules of proper English dictate that when referring to adult beverages, it is forbidden to use the singular for such phrases as "a drinkie"? It is a basic rule of grammar that when one mentions any for of tossing them down the gullet, it must be expressed in the plural form (ten or more, seems a respectable reference)!

I can understand your kind intentions, but your negligence in also not including a venue, date and time was also noted!
