'Brokeback Mountain' the ultimate Japanese 'chick flick'

Movies, TV, music, anime other random J-pop culture phenomenons. Also film/video production, technical discussion, cast and crew calls, etc.

[quote="homesweethome"]And watching "Top Gun" always made me want to throw my tags into the drink!

No, they were Goose's tags. Not yours. ;)
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

But just throwing somebody's tags into the deep blue would have made me feel a lot better at the time.

:D

And as for my favorite films:
…]

I just have to say that, for the record, amongst all the films that exist in the “It could have happened” genre, Good Will Hunting, while well acted and a good movie, has to be one of the most unrealistic films of all time. It represents the Apex of all feel-good movies:

Handsome 21 year old Janitor who is just out of jail on probation turns out to be a mathematics genius, no one discovered it before, like say at high school. Not only that, but he is a genius at everything – philosophy, law, life, whatever. Also, he has a couple of guns for fists [Now is the time for all men to say to themselves ‘Hey he’s just like me’]. BUT, and a big but, he can’t have any girlfriends because he was beaten as a child [men, shed a tear here. Girls swoon accordingly].

The court room scene was the big breaker for me, anyone who has spent time in the lower courts knows that what happened in the movie would never happen in real life.

Oh, sorry, I seem to have fallen asleep at my keyboard. As for Brokeback, uh, yeah, I'll put that on my To Watch list right up there with other great "love movies" like Bridges of Madison County.

You're missing out. Bridges of Madison County was the first movie I took my wife to when we were dating.
