South Park Chef Loses Voice

Isaac Hayes is leaving South Park because they made fun of Scientology. What a tool.

Matt Stone wrote: Past episodes of South Park have skewered Catholics, Jews and Mormons, among others. However, according to Stone, he and Parker "never heard a peep out of Isaac in any way until we did Scientology.

"He wants a different standard for religions other than his own, and to me, that is where intolerance and bigotry begin," Stone told the Associated Press.

That sucks. Chef and his salty balls were a great addition to the show.

The best episode was the CHINPOKOMON episode. I don't remember if Chef was in it, but it has to be every FG's favorite.

Trey Parker (the reason they have so many Japanese related jokes in the series [he used to study it/live in japan/have a japanese roommate - according to different accounts]) is marrying a j-chick

Trey did pretty well for himself. Anyone have dirt they can dig up on that relationship/the chick?

This is a bit of a long shot, but I think I recognize her from the Parker/Stone movie Orgazmo. One of the subplots is the hero trying to save a sushi restauraunt from mafia goons, and I think she played the restauraunt owner's daughter.

I just sat through that episode- what utter crap. The annoying red/blue blinking backgrounds must have been what knocked out the kiddies. It only added to my annoyance at the show, with the stupid voices and mindless plot. "Polygon, save me!"

Isaac Hayes it seems has returned to South Park since they pulled the episode that offended him. If he is a scientologist I can see why he was offended. The episode really was a thirty minutes of saying how much of a fraud that religion is. I just finished watching it. It wasn't really all that funny except for Tom Cruise hiding in Kyle's closet and everyone repeatedly telling him to come out and him denying he was in the closet.

The plot thickens. A Fox News gossip columnist alleges that Hayes recently had a stroke and is in no condition to have lodged any complaint about the TV show. Allegedly someone from Scientology filed a fake statement from Hayes quitting the show. But it wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing was faked by the producers of the show, to get publicity over a long-term character being retired due to medical issues.

Chef returns to South Park - minus Hayes

South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker vowed vengeance last week in their running battle with Scientology - and the new season premiere in the US appears to be the start.

Isaac Hayes may have left the animated satire in a huff over what he described as religious "intolerance and bigotry," but his Chef character, which he's voiced since 1997, is not forgotten.

The Comedy Central cartoon begins its 10th season with an episode titled The Return of Chef! The character's return follows by just a few days Hayes' statement he was quitting because he could no longer accept the show's satirical blasts at religion.

... Hayes did not return to voice the new episode, but there is widespread speculation the mischievous Stone and Parker used creative editing of his voicing from past shows to fashion new dialogue.

Comedy Central today began running promos of the episode that featured what appeared to be Hayes' voice.

... The show's feud with Scientology heated up further last week when, a couple of days after Hayes' blast, a scheduled rerun of an episode ridiculing Scientology, and famous follower Tom Cruise, was pulled without notice. A blogger site reported Cruise had used his clout to force the episode's removal, a charge Cruise's representative denied.

The next day Parker and Stone issued a statement promising more to come ... more

I am surprised that they didn't so something like make chef decide to have a sex change operation or something absolutely out there. A stalker chick coming along and cutting his nuts off causing his voice to change or any other creative (yet totally degrading way) to change his voice and character.
The end of the episode in question is the scientologists yelling about how they were going to sue, and Kyle saying "go ahead sue me then". Should play out pretty funny in the end.

Next month there's a new Simpsons written by and featuring Ricky Gervaise of The Office.

These are the first glimpses of how Ricky will look in the forthcoming episode of The Simpsons entitled 'Homer Simpson, This Is Your Wife', written by Ricky himself.

These images are from the storyboard that is used by the animators to guide the making of the finished show. Obviously, they're not the finished drawings.

Can't wait!!

chef returns

Postby inthebubble » Thu Mar 23, 2006 10:28 pm

Ok so in the ongoing saga, chef did return after leaving Southpark to join a club. When he returns he is brainwashed by the club (we can all figure what the club actually represents). The boys try to save him but he decides to return to the club to continue molesting young boys(which is what the club has trained him is the right thing to do), but he falls off a bridge and gets eaten by a mountain lion and bear. Just when we think he is dead, the club revives him with a Darth Vader suit and he is alive in a Vader suit (with the authentic Vader voice).
As some said his voice through the whole episode was basically one word at a time (used from previous stuff). The whole point of the show was that if you join the club the club will be bad for you and you can't keep all your previous friends. A not really well disguised way of saying scientologists are all child molesters and freaks. It was pretty damn funny though.

Chef Gets Big Send-Off on South Park

The children try to rescue Chef, but in the end he turns to head back to the "Super Adventure Club" until he falls off a bridge onto rocks, is burned, stabbed and mauled by a mountain lion and bear.

Airwaves Again Safe for South Park Spoof

Postby kamome » Thu Jul 13, 2006 2:57 am

Scientology Spoof Back on the Air

As the conspiracy theory goes, Cruise's camp had a hand in deep-sixing the episode, with the litigious actor reportedly threatening threatened to pull out of promotional duties for Mission: Impossible III. (Viacom is the parent company for both Comedy Central and Paramount, the studio that was releasing Cruise's film.)

Cruise's reps vehemently denied such allegations, but the South Park brain trust stuck by its guns.

"I only know what we were told, that people involved with M:I:III wanted the episode off the air and that is why Comedy Central had to do it," Stone says in Variety. "I don't know why else it would have been pulled."
