Yikes! I think I dated these Japanese girls....

The discovery of homosexual Japanese monkeys is providing a fundamental and uncomfortable challenge to one of Charles Darwin's basic evolutionary theories...
Japanese macaques -- monkeys slightly smaller than chimpanzees ..."We've got females that are competing for males with other females, we've got males that are being choosy, males that are sexually coercing females ... we've got females sexually harassing males that don't want to copulate with them, we've got females that have sex with each other, we've got females that are competing with males for other females, we have females that are mounting males."... "it's common for females to masturbate with their tails" where there is no direct genital contact.
"The traditional evolutionary theory says you do things in order to reproduce," he said, "so why would you do all this non-reproductive sex?

I think these monkies are just confused.. SOunds like an orgyfest in the grandest fashion imagineable.

I think they do because they are curious or confused.. or maybe they do it because they are irratational. Who knows. I don't think however that Darwin's theory is being challenged here because the sole purpose of sex is just that, reproduction. Why else would you do it? Well maybe for personal gratification, so that might also be the reason, who knows...
These monkies are just fooling around, much like foreplay with humans. Imagine if human females had tails.. no more vibrators or dildos

It is completely dirty and unnatural and so we all must band together and villify these freaks of nature. They need to be discrimnated against, laughed at, misunderstood and bashed senseless by roaming groups of "tough" monkeys. This will make them all realise that they are going against nature and God..

If possible we should put electrodes on their heads and give them ECT treatment to "cure" them. Or else give them strict counselling to show them the error of their misguided ways.. or else take them away from their friends who have subjected them to peer pressure as they wouldn't do it on their own. They just need to settle down with a nice husband or wife and live how good monkey on the discovery channel are supposed to live!!! Darwin said so - it must be true!!! /rant

For god sake they are monkeys - limited society and limited communication skills!! They are just doing what they want or what is natural for them and not because they are trying to out-do Darwin theories outn of spite. They don't know that sex is just for reproduction.. I doubt that sex education is high on their list of daily priorities.

It is interesting that supposedly wild monkeys do this.. BB they are not confused or irrational!! You are putting your own values onto a group of monkeys because they don't fit into your neat little view of the world and how monkeys should behave..

Live and let live.. you may not agree but why should it bother you??

It doesn't bother me. I just agree with Darwin. I say this, if homosexuality was natural, then we wouldn't survive as a species, speaking from a strictly scientific viewpoint. As homosexuals cannot reproduce by natural means, AFAIK.

Personally I could care less about homosexual behavior. We all have our own preferences and I respect that..
