A maid place has just open in nakano : http://www.tk-maid.jp/
But at 12000y/h i think it's not really a cafe.
a quick look at the "option" page confirms my initial thought : http://www.tk-maid.jp/option/index.htm
The manga about the place could also be a clue (NSFW) : http://www.tk-maid.jp/comic/index5.htm

Too saccharine sweet for my taste. It's not even sexy.

Hmmmm...maybe I've been away from Japan for too long.

No Sex Please, We're British Butlers

"Butlers in the Buff" has proved such a business success as half-naked waiters in Britain that the firm is now off round the world to market the ultimate "male order" service...

The company, whose waiters wear only a bow tie, collar, cuffs and a bottom-revealing apron, is the brainchild of former Royal Marine Jason Didcott who turned entrepreneur after serving in the Gulf and Bosnia.

...each waiter undergoes a scrupulous police check and drink-fuelled clients are firmly told to keep their hands to themselves.

"What we are looking for is James Bond in a butler outfit. We want them to be cheeky but clean," he told Reuters.

...Didcott, and his company partners Will Jones and Stacey Lynn, has 75 part-time butlers on his books to staff hen parties, corporate functions and the fast growing market of gay wedding receptions.

Shame that I actually prefer those girls over the ones in the typical maid outfits.

Cherish Room Clover in Fukuoka is going for a double maid and butler menu. Some of the butler's will be girls (like Kuang Grade's earlier "dansou kissa") while others will be guys like the original Butlers' Cafe Swallowtail in Ikebukuro mentioned earlier. It doesn't look like the owners have spent much money on it.

Well, it is in bumpkinville. Maybe if they made a uyoku-themed bar they'd get more customers out there.

Cat Themed Maid Cafe in Akiba to open

Postby Kuang_Grade » Fri Jul 28, 2006 3:08 am

Next week, a cat themed maid-ish cafe is to open in Akihabara, called Cafe with Cat. Staff uniforms will sport cat ears and a tail.

Interestingly, on the akibablog pages, there is a banner ad from Akiba-works.com (apparently an IT recruitment website) that is running a maid themed banner campaign and entry page

Looks that maids are creeping beyond traditional Otauku activities and are now showing up at car shows/race queens...this firm also had pink maid variant as well.

Spoken like someone who's never had an eargasm. I can't explain where it is, but it's like the G-spot for both sexes. I don't think I'd pay for anyone to do it, but getting it from someone you're snuggling with is a lot of fun.

I've never been to one of these maid places, but I'm kind of curious. My wife wavers: half the time she asks me never to go to one whenever she sees them mentioned on TV because she doesn't want to face the fact that she married a geek, and half the time she wants me to go and report back on just what goes on in those shops.
I have a blog. Last update: August 18, 2013.

[floatl]Image[/floatl]ZakZak (Japanese) reports that a Maid Optician called Candy Fruit Optical has proved popular since opening its doors in April. Combining an Akihabara otaku's interest in maids and girls with glasses. The store was set up by the third-generation owner of a Yokohama optician who claims to have been the first to stock frames worn by Yon-sama and singer Gackt.

Heavy discounting has hit the business in recent years but this store has bucked the trend and the company is thinking of rolling out the format in more locations in the near future.

Well, Nakameguro went and got its first Maid Cafe. I think it opened at the end of last month. Here's the info. They've got girls out on the street dutifully handing out flyers on the weekends.

I took a friend who was visiting from the U.S. to Akihabara. I haven't been there since the maid cafe boom started, so I was pretty shocked to see so many maids handing out flyers in front the of train station.

The pricing is pretty high for the quality of the food, but I guess that's reasonable if your only expenses are manga and canned oden.

Patrick Macias' piece for NHK Tokyo Eye program. It doesn't really get started until about 1.30 into it.

[YT]VSSqJZmn3AE[/YT]

The ending isn't too bad either with the show host, Mr 'Smooth Gaijin with Deep Professional Radio Voice' sorts of flirts with a maid while Macias nerds out pointing out the variations (including an "orthodox" maid) between several different maid outfits.

[YT]2lssJamHNMQ[/YT]
The second part is about maid related service business such as hair salons and foot massages. I think that Macias is a little overly optimistic about the maid trend global future.

I've met that guy at a couple parties; he's pretty nice.

Those clips are priceless KG, thanks!.. But if I had someone call me 'Master' that much, I'd end up beating them.. It's what Masters do! ;)
