New Japanese campaign to attract girls into sciences

Tohoku University plans to launch a new campaign to attract more female students in to sciences, The Daily Yomiuri reported.

Science Angels, female volunteer students from Tohoku's graduate school, will be sent to primary, middle and high schools in Sendai to attract more females into science.

The program will start next month, and the university is currently recruiting about 40 volunteers.

The volunteers will visits schools in the city to interest female students in science and will also provide consultations for females visiting the university campus . . . more

Perhaps this is so that the scientists at Tohoku Uni will stop cavorting with robots and re-discover womenfolk, and help stem the tide of Japan's depopulation . . . ;)
