Two recent instances of toddlers losing fingers in paper shredders prompted the industry ministry Wednesday to call on manufacturers to produce safer devices. Both incidents involved 2-year-old children while they were at home. One child lost nine fingers, and the other had two fingers severed. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry requested manufacturers to take immediate safety steps to prevent a recurrence of such accidents. One child lost nine fingers

You'd think even a two year old would know better than to stick his other hand in there, too. First time, shame on his parents but second time shame on him. Just kidding, I'm sure he stuck both his hands down there at once. Good job, on the folks, everyone knows two years don't go sticking their hands in strange places so it's completely safe to leave shreading devices out and about and plugged in. I hope that kid's remaining finger is the bird. That would be cool!

This was a big deal on the morning news programs.
What is so difficult about unplugging it if you are worried about your sprogs putting their fingers in it?
