Fantasy Football - FG Bowl!

Postby kamome » Thu Aug 31, 2006 11:08 pm

Hey, Fucked Gaijins! The 2006 FG Bowl league has been created on Yahoo!

Now is your chance to earn bragging rights among your fellow FGs for the year.

For anyone who wants to join, here is the info:

League ID: 614804
League URL: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/614804
League Name: FG Bowl
Password: FG

THE LIVE ONLINE DRAFT WILL TAKE PLACE THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2006 at 9:45am EDT (US East Coast time). PLEASE TRY TO BE AT YOUR COMPUTER AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFOREHAND.

(Sorry, couldn't get a better draft time).

**Since people have have had problems joining in the past, I think it's a good idea to PM your email address to me if you want to join so that I can send you an invitation through the Yahoo system.**

Some items of note:

- Don't consider joining unless you plan to be an active member. That means setting your lineups each week, adjusting your rosters for injuries and bye weeks, proposing/rejecting trades on a timely basis, etc.

- This is a free league. I did a little bit of research and I think it will take too much time for me to organize money transfers through Pay-Pal or some other means (anyone is free to volunteer to organize this, however)

- New change for the year: 5 bonus points awarded for yardage totals (300 passing yds for QBs, 100 rushing yds for RBs, 100 receiving yards for WRs)

- Like last year, the configuration is QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, flex RB/WR slot, K, DEF and 5 bench spots

- Smack talking is not only allowed, it's encouraged! :grin:

- For new FGs: we've been doing this for the past few years and it's a lot of fun. I won the championship last year and Big Booger won it the year before that. Maybe this year will be your turn.

Good luck,
kamome (a.k.a. Kanto |-KRUSH-|)
Commish Extraordinaire

P.S. GuyJean, AK and I have already signed up.

Well, we've now had to postpone the draft twice. Seems no one wants to sign up. Where the hell are all you FG'ers? There has to be 7 more of you out there who like football enough to join a fantasy league!

But I don't have confidence I can make enough time to do it right. Can you give me a ballpark figure how long it takes to manage a team a week? I love NFL football, and would love to kick AK's ass. Oh what the hell count me in. I'll make the time. Kanome I'll email you my private email address right now.

That's up to you but Yahoo makes it really easy. They tell you if a player is hurt and so on. Believe me, you'll still be spending way more time on FG.

Hey Canman, you don't have to spend much time each week to manage a team. Fanatics like me can spend an hour a day reading info about injuries, projections, matchups, etc., but you can do the minimum and make sure your injured players are replaced with healthy ones and set your line-up each week.

There are tons of websites out there that contain information about fantasy football, so you don't have to do that much thinking.

I know. I could have picked something in the middle of the week, but most people would be at work where they would be cockblocked from entering the draft. It's going to screw up the scoring somewhat, but if you're as good as me, it won't matter. Let the ass-kicking begin! ;)

Anyway, Canman and Gilligan, what are your names in the fantasy league? I'm trying to figure out who is who.

Canman: which team are you?

Gilligan: Questionable? Did you see my point total for this week??! 147 friggin' points, and that's before LaMont Jordan even sets foot on the field.

Sorry, but Kevin Jones won't be able to carry your team this year (or any year). ;)

Hachinohe Slammers

Postby canman » Tue Sep 12, 2006 9:17 am

Ok so we got slammed a little bit this first week, and damn Payton Manning, I was expecting huge numbers from him and he let me down.
Could we get a list of all the teams and owners?
I especially want to know what punk ass team AK has put together. Mind you I guess if I just look at the suckiest team I'll probably be able to find them.

Asskissinger = Assassins
kamome = Kanto -|KRUSH|-
GuyJean = Tama Pterodactyls
Captain Japan = Tokyo No-Pan
Gilligan = Boston Massacres
Canman = Hachinohe Slammers

The only other person I know in there is "P-Sax", my brother. There are about 3 random dudes who joined before the draft, but seem to be into the game.

So far, I think Tokyo No-Pan is leading in the smack talk race. I think he's going to run a whole series profiling the players on his fantasy team!

With a roster like yours

Postby canman » Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:44 am

I can't see how you are so confident. Your qb will tank soon enough, and thanks for not trading Frank"butter fingers" Gore to me, you saved me some points. Looks like your team is getting old, and will start to break down soon. AK it must be smoke and mirrors that you are 2-0, can't wait for reality to set in for you as well. Kamome, thanks for making the FG Bowl, I'm really enjoying this season much more than usual. Although I find myself getting really jumpy around Friday waiting for the weeks games to start. This could be habit forming.

Smoke and mirrors my fucking ass punk motherfucker faggot! I made some key moves after the 'preseason' game and my two new picks scored 17 more points than projected EACH during their first game so you can go suck a nut bitch.

I NEVER root against Atlanta but that gay ass charity fucking FEMA bowl gimme to the Saints did save my ass. Too bad The Falcons had to take one up the ass so the NFL can look good by shining fake ass sunshine up New Orleans' flooded asscrack.

Anyway, you either win or lose and it's 2 and 0 bitch so fuck you and your sorry ass team of bitches.

I feel you are wrried about the rest of the season so you are trying to play up the fact that your bunch of losers have gotten lucky these first few weeks. Key moves, playing with your small dick is not considered a key move. Anyway lets see what happens in the next few weeks, your bullshit luck is bound to run out sooner than later. Biyatch
