Hey dudes, I've been living in Nagoya as of late... Haven't posted in like, what.. a year?
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone who lives in Nagoya/has been to Nagoya knows of any good "manly" arcades? I've been here for a few months and haven't noticed anything that isn't full of the lamest, girl-only garbage, so I haven't visited any. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a video game addict, but I do enjoy the occasional arcade visit, call it a vestige of youth. I also appreciate UFO catchers in an almost.. unhealthy way. Anything with horrible Ultraman monsters or NES classics is awesome.
Anyone know of any place like this? I'm so sick of getting queer looks as I peek into the girl arcades hoping I'll find some UFO catcher with Legend of Zelda keitai dangles on it.

Nevertheless, here's some suggestions.
1. Kanayama - Near the ECC Sogo building, leave via the asunaru (check for spelling...), turn left through the colorful shooping complex and head toward a pachinko parlour (in front/side of ECC, near a Pakastani supermarket, who incidentally have cheap spices and will loan you Bollywood movies and cricket videos if that's your thing!). Go in the small entrance next to the Pachinko main entrance. THird floor is you "manly" floor. Second is "girly" stuff. This arcade has mostly older stuff though.
2. Meieki - Head toward Seijo (international food supermarket), turn left and keep walking, through a cluttered bike lot, head under the overpass and there you have one. Girly and manly all in one.
3. Osu Kannon (area) - Head down to the plaza with all the second hand game stores, the Bay Meiho building (with all the Chinese restaurants) and head into the game centre. It's big. Kiddie stuff on the first floor, manly stuff on the second and otaku heaven around the corner on the second floor.
Have fun.

The one I mainly went to was in Sakae. I forget which street but it had a lot of floors with karaoke on top.
There are also cheap and small ones in Yagoto right outside the subway station. There was one in Irinaka, too, but it didn't seem to be doing well and I'm not sure if it's still there. It probably still has old Neo-Geo games running...
