Fertility Phone

Postby kurohinge1 » Tue Oct 31, 2006 4:17 pm

Japanese Phone Signals Fertility

Worried about a shrinking population, Japan retailers have discovered new ways for women to detect their most fertile moments including a ringing phone.

A new phone is available that calculates ovulation times according to dates of her menstrual period and alerts her three days beforehand. The phones have been made available through Japan's NTT DoCoMo . . . more

The male equivalent of the phone should also warn him of her impending period, with a PMS alert. ;)

Whoah - that looks like an IPG PMS alert!

(Oops - or was that the "really really fricken stupid thing" I shouldn't have said? )

And I wonder if the "bonk-bell" is just a boring ring tone or whether it emits Barry White songs and pheromones or something?

Also, here's another feature that the public have been demanding since keitai were invented . . .

. . .But there's one other feature that women may find the most useful. The device is equipped with a special ringtone, which can be set off anytime, allowing the user to fake a call - and get away from unwanted attention . . . more

I hope they remembered to temporarily block incoming calls during the "fake call", as it'd be a tad embarrassing to have the phone ring again when you're on a phantom phone call ! ]http://www.citynews.ca/images/2006-10/phone.jpg[/IMG]

Was this keitai software written by GomiGirl?

GG and I are working on a system which will deliver a package of ibuprofen, chocolate and gin and tonics to you as soon as you fling your keitai across the room in anger.

Ha! I actually wrote a midp app for this several years ago and then presented a subsequent Brew solution to several content providers. Glad to see someone at the 'copy me' factory is awake. Actually the version I was working on included a basal temp <calculated> sensor that you use WITH the application - so the woman could enter some physical data, then also use the phone/sensor to provide critical temp data points automatically.

Why? Cause I realised that many women in Japan practiced , ahem, natural birth control, and used very difficult to enter and chart (read pencil diaries) , or just plain guessing about their fertility cycle. Jeez, the one thing EVERY woman carries is her keitai - so it's the most logical device for this type of app. Now who from DoCoMo was at that meeting 5years ago ??? Hmmmm
See you in PyonPyang!

That "system" has already been invented.

He's hovering at the end of the bar.
