Niseko craziness/ agression this winter?

Just finished reading some threads on the niseko boom - they fizzled out around 2005 so thought i would add some spice back into the mix. This year boookings are apparently up 50 percent! yes that means a lot of cash but it also means possibly more trouble - wouldnt want to say crime but it has been steadily increasing - guys punching each other out in the main street in front of cars - etc -and there isn't even a police box in Hirafu -

Aside from the idiots last year - it wasn't too bad (except for a missing car) - for people up this way these random acts of craziness make them wonder about gaijin moral fiber -
