That's sad but says more about your university than anything else. Odd that there weren't fraternities, theme housing, or other clubs that (defacto) catered to white people.

I was a proud member of Japan society at my undergrad school, lived in "Japanese house", joined the Kendo team and later hung out with the Japanese club at UW Madison as well. As a white guy I had all sorts of groups I could join.

It's important to distinguish the social support-type groups from the cultural awareness ones- there's no reason someone interested in the culture couldn't join the latter.
