Reischauer article in Japan Times

Just guessing, but I think that back in the mid- to late eighties, one of Reischauer's books on Japan might have been a pretty commonly used book for Japanese studies at universities. I base that just on the fact that my university used it and I couldn't find many other books on Japan in book stores at that time. But I guess that has little to do with this article. :(
