Japanese Consulate Advises Against Domestic Violence

Postby Mulboyne » Sun Dec 03, 2006 4:56 pm

[floatr]Image[/floatr]Kyodo: Japanese arrested in string of light domestic violence cases in U.S.
A string of light domestic violence cases in which Japanese were arrested in California and nearby locations prompted the Japanese Consulate General in San Francisco to issue a warning Friday to Japanese nationals. At least six cases in which Japanese were arrested for lifting their hands against family members or friends in a spat have taken place over the past year in the region where the consulate general is in charge, including the case of a woman who grabbed an American boyfriend by the arm in a car, it said. "You have to become fully aware that domestic violence is a crime, both in Japan and the United States," the consulate general said in its warning. U.S. police are rigorous in their crackdowns on domestic violence in light of numerous deaths and injuries being caused by violence in and outside homes, and there has been a case in which a witness reported to police about a parent scolding a kid harshly, Japanese residents say.

I wonder how hard that girl grabbed her boyfriend's arm to get arrested for domestic violence. I hope she at least left a bruise or something. I am glad that US law enforcement is taking domestic violence by women seriously these days though. Just because a guy could physically overpower you if he fought back doesn't mean you can beat on him or smash up his place.

Any of you guys ever been hit by a girlfriend? I knew an FG here in Tokyo that was dating a psycho J-bitch from hell who would smash up his place and beat the fuck out of him. One of the last times I saw him before he bailed on J-land his face had big nail marks across it from her scratching him. I felt bad for the guy, but as far as I'm concerned, if something like that happens to you once and you continue the relationship, anything that happens after that is your fault.

I know a guy who got smashed in the face with a heavy object by his wife while he was sleeping.
As SJ says, size is not always an advantage in a fight when you are fighting a crazy bitch.
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Kyodo via Crisscross: Minister visits domestic abuse shelter
Yuji Yamamoto, minister in charge of "second chances," visited a domestic violence shelter in Kurayoshi, Tottori Prefecture on Saturday to lay the groundwork for formulating a comprehensive package of measures to assist struggling people. After talking with women at the facility, the minister told reporters that helping victims of domestic violence will be given priority when implementing the government's second chances-related policy. He said the government will include measures to aid such women in the planned package, such as helping them to find jobs and places to live so they can leave shelters.
