what's the best love hotel?

Postby katakori » Thu Mar 13, 2003 10:44 am

hi all.

as many gaijins (who watch too much bad tv and read to many bad magazines), i have often seen really strange love hotels with themed room, such as 'kitty chan', 'doraemon', and other more perverted stuff.

the thing is, my girlfriend and i would like to try one, but although it's easy to spot love hotels, it's impossible to know how the rooms will be. or is it?
how can i find out?

does anyone have a good cheezy hotel to advise?
thanks
y

The Dogenzaka area in Shibuya is chock full o'nice, cheesy love hotels. They're actually quite clean and offer a discount if you check in early (i.e., before 10PM or so).

Many of them (or the newer hotels at least) have a photo of the room at or near the entrance.

Just FYI, the best love hotel I've ever been to is out in Hachioji, overlooking the Chuo Expressway. Each "room" is really a little hut with a stream that runs beside it and has Disney figurines in the garden surrounding it. Order from room service and the delivery is by a little boat that stops within arm's reach of the door. The rooms also had jet baths which, when turned on, also turned off the bathroom lights and activated multicolored lights that changed color every few seconds. The hotel is still there. You can't miss it if you get off at the Hachioji No. 2 exit of the Chuo. The best LHs in Tokyo have got to be around the Hachioji/Takao/Akiruno area.

on the other hand, what a sad news that they all came clean and "normal" now..... so much for my childhood dreams, i guess.
