Working Holiday Visa Support site

Postby GomiGirl » Mon Dec 04, 2006 7:42 pm

Just ran across this site and am putting it up as a resource for interested people....

Japan Association for Working Holiday Makers

WHAT IS J.A.W.H.M.?
The Japan Association for Working Holiday Makers, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, is the only authorized organization in Japan designed to help Working Holiday Makers.
We provide Working Holiday Makers with a job referral service, accommodation information and special events. We also provide prospective Japanese Working Holiday Makers with advice for travelling abroad. We take great pleasure in offering our assistance to any Working Holiday Maker who understands the real spirit of the Working Holiday Scheme. We hope you will show interest in Japanese culture, language and society, and take home with you a greater understanding and appreciation of our country and our people!

I am going to visit the Nakano office next week and use their free job boards as I have some contract jobs going that would suit working holiday visa holders. I shall report back on if the office is useful for both working holiday visa holders and people like me who want to hire working holiday visa holders.

Am thinking of adding some other visa information and making this thread a sticky as we seem to gets lots of questions on this subject.

I've been to the nakano office when i was a working holiday holder. Nobody was there, it was just an empty office.
And i guess it was open since it wasn't closed and there was two or three computers switched on, there was just nobody there.
