I never said that lying unconscious in a gutter in a pool of your own vomit was exclusively ozzie behavior. However, it is a matter of attitude. When an American goes out drinking, he is absolutely convinced that anything could happen. He may end up in a gutter, but he also might sober up and find himself in the Honeymoon Suite in a Las Vegas hotel, married to a movie star.
An ozzie has no such pretensions. He seeks only his fetid gutter full of vomit and knows it is inevitable he will end there, and no other place.
