Japanese born player in NHL

In their game on Saturday, January 13th, the Los Angeles Kings made Yutaka Fukufuji the first Japanese born hockey player to play in the NHL. He was put in goal in the 3rd period, facing 5 shots and allowing 1 goal.

Do you think we will be hearing a lot about him in the Japanese news? Maybe hockey popularity will pick up a bit.

I backup goalie ain't gonna inccrease the popularity of hockey in Japan. The Kimutaku series Pride did set of a bit of a hockey boom.
