Bungee - without cakking yourself?

Postby sillygirl » Thu Jan 18, 2007 11:22 pm

Ok, gonna take the plunge - literally. Something I've always wanted to do, so have persuaded my boss to do this with me...all for charity of course.

http://www.redletterdays.co.uk/Experience/Ref/UZABR

Your experiences please...and advice on how to do it without cakking myself.

Health & Safety!!

I've done it. When you're free-falling like that it feels like it's not going to catch. I only wanted to do it once and was glad to be done with it really. God Speed.

You'll enjoy it; I loved the feeling of free-falling.. Made me want to try sky-diving.

Look out, not down. Focus on something off in the distance, jump for it.. Don't think. Just jump..

Enjoy!

As long as Noel Edmonds isn't involved, you should have a great time.

After you hit and bounce, it ain't half bad. It's that second hit that strings a bit....Kind of like cracking an egg and then scrambling it. :bounce:

Use a cord. You're chicken. Taro did it for six stories with no cords and thoroughly enjoyed it (until the sudden stop at the ground floor)!

Keep your eyes closed at the end - it is bad for the retina apparantly.

I jumped out of a plane in a tandem skydive and thought it was great. The high lasted for days. Actually the boy and I were just talking about doing it again the other day.

The first time is the best.
It's hell to do force yourself to make the first jump....but peer pressure helps. On my first zipline jump at age 13 at Outward Bound Experience, I had to be shamed into jumping. After that, I was willing to jump anything...repelling, skydiving, base-jumping, hang-gliding, they're all the same kind of rush. You will love it.

Cool..

I'm not scared of heights anyway, so I should be ok...scared of dying? Hmm, maybe!

Have asked if I can go first so my boss can give me a boot up the arse to get me off the platform

Are there any places in Japan, preferably near Tokyo to bungee?

I know, I know. I can probably can search however, at the moment I am tired and lazy.

Next time, tie the cords on your legs, not on the "ye gaye old dragon"!

There was a place in Gunma - but some bird had an accident so they had to close it down. (Health & Safety gone mad). Oh, wait looks like it's open again:

Well, even if they hadn't have flapped you in, you would have probably just bounced, having gotten soft and fat in your old age, retired back there in the quiet world of academia.

You can try jumping off Rainbow Bridge. Bring your own equipment. ;) If you get stopped by the authority, tell them you are filming a movie or something.
