Foreigners Implicated In Taiji Dolphin Cull

Postby Mulboyne » Fri Jan 19, 2007 3:54 pm

"Watch the brutal capture of 'the Taiji Twelve', twelve dolphins culled from the annual Japanese dolphin slaughter who are being sold to the Dominican Republic for 'swim with dolphins' programs. Amidst the bloody slaughter of 200 dolphins, these twelve were selected and kept alive as they watched their families, their calves and their pods beaten, stabbed and drowned to death." www.SaveJapanDolphins.org

I'm supposed to think this is worse than cows, pigs or even other fish being slaughtered for food or whatever?

Some species of dolphin seem to equally or perhaps more intelligent that your average dog... & eating dog is sooo Manchurian... therefore yeah: maybe?

& dolphins are way cuter than pigs or fish... not sure about cows - it'd have to be a pretty handsome dolphin :p

You might have a point Emp! But I've never eaten a Manchurian, so I can't say for certain!

I don't care much for bashing food policy because we all it stuff others may not like in other nations
In the States they would freak if they knew Asians ate bugs and dogs, or Japanese eating raw horsemeat. The French frogs eat some foul cheese that stinks of Shit Or in India they'd have a COW knowing what we eat in the West

However hunting Whales that are on the verge of extinction is wrong
and then this 'Dolphin Massacre'
I'm not too shocked by rumors of a foreign conspiracy in all this

With all the high tech gadgets in Nippon you'd think the Japanese would come up with a more humane way of killing these animals

Of course they have, but it wouldn't be as much fun and it would detract from the true matsuri spirit of the event!

I didn't really see anything shocking or disturbing in that video. What a letdown.

we japanese should start to cultivate whales like tuna for the purpose of shutting up the mouth of non-rational crazy whale cults.

Sea Shepherd has an offer of $10,000 to the person who can obtain the most graphic photographic evidence of the slaughter, including still photographs and video footage.
