A Metropolitan Police Department police inspector was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of molesting a 22-year-old woman on a train on the Seibu Shinjuku Line.

According to the police, Takeshi Hayakawa, commander of the MPD's 8th District Traffic Mobile Unit, allegedly touched the hip of a woman sitting next to him on the train at about 11 p.m. The woman seized Hayakawa and took him to staff at Minami-Otsuka Station in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture, who then handed him over to Kawagoe Police Station.

Hayakawa, 42, of Sayama in the prefecture, denied the allegation, the police said. He reportedly left his office at 6 p.m., and was heading home after having dinner and drinks with his colleagues near JR Tachikawa Station.

Up until now I'm pretty sure I would have always assumed that he did but after reading about this new film "soredemo boku wa yatteinai", I'm not so sure any more. Train pervert cop arrested for molesting high school girl

An assistant police inspector has been arrested for molesting a high school girl on a train in Tokyo Thursday, police said.

The 56-year-old officer at Nerima Police Station, whose name was not immediately disclosed, was released after he admitted to the allegations during questioning.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is set to send an investigation report to prosecutors, accusing him of violating a Tokyo metropolitan ordinance prohibiting people from creating a nuisance.

The assistant inspector fondled the body of the 17-year-old high school girl on a JR Chuo Line train while it was traveling between Musashi-Sakai and Mitaka Thursday morning, MPD officials said.

The victim and some other passengers overpowered the officer and handed him over to police at Mitaka Station
