Never Date An Ozzie English Teacher

An English teacher working in China has told the University of Queensland how he helped his former girlfriend cheat online during her Chinese translation and interpreting exam last year.
Speaking from London, where he is on holiday, the man said he had provided full details of email and MSN data which allegedly shows how the cheating took place.
Asked why he did something so dishonest, he said yesterday: "She was my girlfriend." He admitted the couple had since ended their relationship.
"I wrote to Queensland University on the 25th of December informing them that I had done all of the academic essays for one of the students on the Chinese Translation and Interpreting course and had helped her cheat during one of her final exams," he said yesterday....more...

Footnotes: there are many disturbing aspects of this story, not the least of which is that someone hired an ozzie to teach a language not native to his homeland: English. Teaching Strine to the Chinese seems like a cruel joke. Also note, the animation seems related to a different story, but since it appeared on this article's web page, I thought it was perfect.

As chuckles has such a hard time comprehending even the simplest instructions about this board, could someone please move this latest non-Japan-related (& poor excuse for Australia-bashing) to "Beyond Fucked" where it (and chuckles!) belong.

I, for one, enjoyed the post. Surrounded by Aussies in Japan and now here in Tianjin, China, I'm all too familiar with playful jabs made by both sides - surely I'm not the only poster here from the States to have been kindly labelled a "Seppo."

And while the board is heavily J-centric, as it should be, there are quite a few posters here like me with extensive J-ties who nonetheless reside in China.

Point being, kurohinge thou doth protest too much.

My usual comments about ozzies pales in comparison to the little movie linked to that animated gif. And I remind you, that was produced by ozzies, for ozzies.

Regardless of any opportunities I may find in this story to jab at ozzies, I posted it for one main reason: just what kind of cruel bastard could help his girlfriend cheat on her exams and then turn her in on christmas day?

Socratesabroad, if you really can't see the difference between the above and chuckles' posts about Aussies, then I doubt I can explain it to you.

But try to imagine the difference between someone who knows you giving you a "playful jab" about something now and then, and someone who doesn't know you king-hitting you from behind just because of the flag on your backpack - everytime they see you.
