Koizumi will declare Japan's support for U.S. and Britain as soon as war starts.
Japan plans to help out with refugees displaced after an attack on Iraq but will not likely provide logistics support for the war nor share its cost, according to measures drawn up by the government, sources said over the weekend.
The measures, which could include mobilization of the Self-Defense Forces to guard U.S. military facilities in Japan if Washington requests it, will be taken regardless of the outcome of the ongoing debate among members of the United Nations Security Council, the sources said.
