I'd say your playing Russian roulette if you bareback either one. The odds of infection are vastly influenced by behavior, and very much less so on static features like geography or genetics. The fact is you just don't know and the only safe way is to assume that everyone is HIV positive until you have proof otherwise. It is quite possible that people he was talking about were HIV positive...It is quite possible that many gaijins are HIV positive, even those from countries where HIV is very low by African standards...Given the nature and location of Japan, its highly unlikely that gaijins are representative of the full spectrum of their national populations, and therefore saying country X is such and such, so people from there in Japan must automatically be such and such is flawed approach except for the most elementary issues or behaviors. Maybe people who want to visit/live in Japan are typically more sexual driven/experienced than the general population of their home country, or maybe they are less risk adverse and thus don't use condoms as much as the general population, or maybe they are more risk adverse or educated and on average use condoms more often then their home country's general population, ect, ect.

Why the fuck should it be up to the girl to insist on using a condom? Everyone is aware of the possibility of contracting AIDS/HIV, syphilis or any other STD with having sex without using a condom. Let along the fact it is well known that the pill is not in common use here.

I don't think anyone is saying it's the girl's responsibility. I think a lot of us just find it weird that girls here really don't seem to care. I can understand why they aren't that scared of AIDS given that the chance of contracting it is pretty slim in Japan. However, there are pleny of other diseases that are more common and of course there's the whole pregnancy thing.

I think I mentioned it in a thread before, but I used to be with this girl who I had to fight with to keep a condom on. Her thinking seemed to be that the only reason to use a condom was to avoid HIV, but since Japanese people were clean it wasn't necessary. Very twisted logic since she was totally ignoring the risk of pregnancy, other STDs, and the fact that I'm a white American.

I simplify things on this forum to make it easy for low IQ jerks like you to understand better. The Jamaican population is about 2.6 million of which about 60,000 live in Toronto. If 60,000 out of 2.6 million is not a good sample size, then you are even more stupid than I thought. Jamaicans make up 1.6% of Toronto's population but account for 60% of crimes. The Toronto police was pressured a few years ago to stop keeping track of the race of criminals because so many were black (Jamaicans). If you exclude family violance and focus just on random crimes, the proportion of Jamaican criminals goes even higher. If that is not enough to make a link, then you are one fucking mentally handicapped person.

It's due to a total lack of education at an age that matters. As most of you know the J-parents expect the schools to teach things like discipline and public manners. I doubt many parents here have the "birds and bees" talk with their kids, after all we can't talk about that unless we are totally shitfaced. The schools 100% should be teaching realistic sexual education. From what the girls have told me they never used a condom until college and have already learned that "it feels better without one" by age 18. Back home you couldn't get laid without a condom before age 18.

I was having a conversation with a chick the other day and I asked her about the differences between sex education between our countries.

She told me, before sex she'd never seen a penis, she didn't know the names of the parts of the female anatomy (labia, clitoris, vulva, uterus, fallopian tubes, etc..) I told her we are shown videos of the conception of a baby from intercourse to birth. We are also made well-aware of the facts of AIDS, HPV, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, herpes, mono and so on.

I went on to tell her that my school even had condom machines in the boy's restroom in high school, and girls had spermicide dispensers.

She was shocked and quite dumbfounded by this revelation. I told her also kids sometimes get pregnant in America and that they have tough choices to make.

Education I feel, is the key to prevention of disease and pregancy. However, what works in one place may not necessarily work in another.

The reason she and I can talk like this is we've been friends for about 7 years and she's close to me. I doubt she'd ever tell anyone this sort of stuff if they were Japanese. It's odd, lately I get the most interesting conversations. I feel like I am Dr. Phil of Japan or something.
