The Tokyo Marathon will take place on Sunday, the 18th of February. If you are planning on using a car or taxi for a journey that day, be aware that there will be heavy traffic restrictions (PDF) in place around the route.

There was a big marathon in Osaka a couple of weeks ago too. I drove into the city centre in the morning and then couldn't get back out! Ended up getting onto the expressway to get over the blocked roads.

The Ome Marathon was yesterday and they had all of Kyu-Ome Kaido blocked off up into the mountains!

Try it in zori and fundoshi. They can't arrest you for showing your Yamato Damashi.
