Look at page 7 of the law excerpts and the link to the translation and this time read it. I assume you will still take the word of the heads flying high at taima.org, but I would think you might want to at least weigh the actual law as translated the UN site on crime.

I was woken up by the D-squad at 9:30 am, I could tell the way they were banging that this wasn't the NHK man.

They came, said they had to look around, showed me the warrant.
And they looked around almost with one eye closed while informing me right off the mark that, they can't bust me. They did not really want to look around, only moved a couple of things in the house, were very polite and were cracking jokes.

To those that I PM'd about the way I got out of this deal, that fact I mentioned to you was the first thing the police informed me of as soon as I let them in after reading the search warrant.

Incidentally they came on the 21st day.

It was as if they did not want to be here and the interpretor was not even used.
In the end the cops as they were leaving said, "We could really use you as an interpretor if you can't find work" think about it! LoL

Just one thing that kind of irks me about the police search and I wonder what others think about this.

The police even though they told me right off the mark that I was not going to get busted, took photos of the inside of my house even my bedroom and also took a photo including my face of me holding a totally unrelated and legal bag of herbs. I protested about this photo but they said "They had t take it for their records". Can they take such photos of unrelated plants, bedroom with no plants in it and indeed a face shot of me, legally under such circumstances?

I just advised the embassy of this fact and am still waiting to hear back from them.

If they are searching under a valid warrant, they have they right to photograph anything, to include you (as subject of the warrant) that they deem to be of evidentiary value. They should have photographed you being read the warrant at the onset also.

As for the bag of herbs, if I am not mistaken you posted that you had originally told them you had used "legal herbs". If so, that may well have been their way of documenting that fact to close out their report/case (hopefully).
