Taro, they just ripped off Jack in the Box for that one. Jack has the "Ulimate Breakfast Sandwich" also referred to as "a farm on a bun." (It weighs in at 730 calories and 40 grams of fat. 8O )

If it's on the J-school Lunch menu, it's JAPANESE.

Sadly, Korea is without the benefit of Jack in the Box.

More info via Bento.com Tokyo food page...
Kirin is using the current coffee boom to sell their new Latte Stout which contains neither coffee nor milk. Okay, it is a "milk stout" - a traditional English style. And, yes, "latte" does mean milk, in Italian. But the name so much of a stretch that it's just plain goofy.
... See it at http://www.kirin.co.jp/brands/lattestout/index.html It is made with barley malt, wheat malt, hops and lactose (milk sugar).....On sale from October 8th at 7-11 convenience stores (which sell liquor) in Tokyo and adjoining prefectures. -- a tip from reader Eiko Nishida, who says "I'd love to see what the difference is between the original Kirin Stout (a heavy 8% alcohol brew) and this "latte stout" (about 4% alcohol).

My favorite Japanese food comes from Korea. Check out this guy in the front gearing up for the best lovin' of his life. The perfect day-off in Japan. Start things off soaking at a nice onsen, gorge yourself on all-you-can-eat yakiniku and pitchers of beer, work it off on a sweet J-honey, crash on a comfortable futon.

Yep. Yakiniku is the only Japanese food I look forward to.

Wait. Did Asskiss just accidentally post a random pic of Taro without knowing it was Taro? Or is that a Taro lookalike (and he does look a lot like Taro)? Wow, one FG member posting a pic of another FG member. That's coincidence.

Naw, it has to be a body double. I mean, if Saddam Hussein, who is homeless and jobless, can afford one, so can Taro. Especially since he's got that bling-blinging red Mercedes.

Actually, the inside joke here for rest of the folks here is that 'one FG member posting a pic of another FG member' has happened quite frequently.

The most embarasing was I unknowingly posted random nude onsen pix of a friend's 20-something daughter....only to have to meet her many times at conferences and in business.

And of course there's the "BoyGenius" and gaijin-CEO who threatened a lawsuit for my posting this pix. Sheesh. << BoyGenius.gif removed>>

Bilk & Botatoes

Beer Japanese style: made from milk

REUTERS wrote:
TOKYO - Great news for beer and milk lovers: A liquor shop owner in Japan's largest dairy farming region has stopped crying about local spilled milk and started making beer from it instead.

"We came up with the idea after hearing about surplus milk," said Chitoshi Nakahara, head of the Nakahara liquor shop on the northernmost island of Hokkaido.

Milk consumption has been declining steadily in Japan, and Hokkaido disposed of nearly 900 tonnes of milk last March due to over-production, according to the Japan Dairy Association.

Nakahara's new brew, "Bilk" -- a combination of "milk" and "beer" -- is about 30 per cent milk. It also contains hops, and the production process does not differ much from that of regular beer, he said.

His shop started selling Bilk, which apart from a slight milky scent looks and tastes like ordinary beer, on February 1 after spending about six months developing the product with a local brewer.

Bilk is only available at six local shops or by mail order, but Nakahara is currently out of stock due to heavy media attention.

Don't worry if you can't get hold of any, though: Nakahara also sells beer brewed from another major Hokkaido product -- potatoes.

Anyone for milk beer?
Reuters.co.jp, Feb 23, 2006
In Japan there's been a tie-up between the brewing and dairy industries... in northernmost Hokkaido are hoping to use up spare capacity to create profit from a drink they're calling "Bilk"....watch the video....
