She has got to be one of the worst singers I ever heard! Every song of her's sounds the same. What would posses someone to make a doll in her image...geeez!

Here is another thread that quickly turns into negative Japan bashing by some cocksucking fucking loser white guy who thinks he knows everything. Go fuck yourself you motherfucking moron. Go back to your fucking country.
Ayumi Hamasaki is a very talented nice looking girl who has achieved tremendous success in her young age. Do half as well as she has done in your life you mother fucking shit.

I guess, I hit a nerve. That is my opinion and I have a right to my opinion and if you don`t like it....oh, well..you can probably think of what you can do with your childish insults. Second, I was`nt Japan bashing, I was bashing the talentless so-called wanna be singer, so don`t get your panties up in a shredder!
Third, you don`t know anything about me, what nationality, what my income is what I have achieved or what I ate or where I sleep or slept with for that matter. So, please go back to school and learn how to properly express yourself without using so much profanity and instead of getting angry at me, go listen to that shrieking Banshee and grow up.;)

I don't need any lessons from you. Just the fact that you were putting Hamasaki Ayumi down and lecturing how you are entitled to your opinion I can tell you are of fucking arrogant white English stock. If you were anything half important you wouldn't be wasting time on here. So spare the thought about not knowing who you are cause I couldn't give a lesser fuck. Go fuck yourself -- self-important-know-it-all fucking worthless shit.

Ha, once again, you proved yourself to be the childish, blathering uneducated person you seem to be. I think you just can`t handle the fact that, there are some people who just don`t agree with you, if you like her fine, that is your personal right to do so, but for me, she is a waste of Japanese MTV airtime. By the way, it amuses me, how you like to throw racial epithets at random over a stupid wannabe, if I am British or white is that bad? Does that mean, I can`t make a commit? Only non-whites or non-Brits are allowed to say their opinions?? You keep showing your age which I guess is somewhere around 12.
But you don`t want to waste your time, right? Or do you want to take another shot at trying to act like somewhat of a whiny child, that can`t get a date with a hopeless plastic woman(I say that very loosely)who sounds quit astonishing like Yoko Ono. I am not a know-it-all, but what I do know is you need to get laid! Find a real woman you can get.:p

The good thing about turning Ayumi Hamasaki into an anime character is that they don't have to exaggerate the size of her eyes, the plastic surgeons already have.

Any way you put it, she's the Anna Kournikova of singers... has all the sponsorship-power of the world, but average talent as singers go (and the creativity of Arsène Lupin).

She's hot and all, but all of that surgery and airbrushing makes her look like a doll.

whenever in doubt about the logic and rationality of decisions like this i remember these three words: "follow the money". it'll probably sell..

and yeah.. her voice makes my ears bleed. not a pretty sight, i assure you.

and if we were to follow jack's "logic" i'd be canada-bashing by making disparaging opinions about celine dion..

Amen! I am not saying she is not a profitable singer. If you compare her salary-wise to Janet Jackson, her income would be roughly similar to hers. The woman came along way, she once said herself, in the beginning she didn`t think of herself as a decent singer. So when she started, she went through this giant transformation, singing lessons(like they really helped:rolleyes: )and plastic surgery(not one time mind you...)I know she "had" a quasi- "Michael Jackson" nose, I think she did her eyes and nose, right? Anyone got any photos of her "before and after?"
Jack is a "bonehead" with all due respect, everyone should be entitled to have an opinion about any topic without chastising someone and using profanity unintelligently to make a point without getting too emotional.
We all should be able to express ourselves freely, that`s why we`re here, but to call someone names, just because I disagree with Jack. "Profitability and raw-talent" are two totally different things, remember that, but some people get confused what real talent is.
She was just recently on CNN giving an interview that she would love to make it in the US...yawn. She would be climbing a very serious slippery slope. She would have to compete with people that can really and I mean, really sing! Think about it...would she have made it past the auditions on "American Idol?" What would Simon have said?

One of my better memories of Tokyo was one night in Kabukicho when I was out with Mulboyne and another FG, who happened to be visiting for a few weeks. We were at a particular bar back near the park. Anwyay, the other FG loved Ayu-chan. This bar had a TV and DVD player. One of the discs on the shelf was an Ayu live concert. Though I was loaded at the time, I very distinctly remember seeing him pounding on the counter repeatedly to get the bartender to advance the disc to one particular song or another. "Oh, I love this song!" he kept repeating. But when he got tired of singing along - he knew all the words - he'd pound the counter again to get him to go back, and so forth.

Looking at her pictures in those Panasonic ads, I have to wonder sometimes if she's actually a real person at all. She looks more like a rather advanced CG effect.

Sorry but have tried to listen to 'her' songs but they do actually make me want to stab people - like Ai Otsuaka's "chu lips" - seriously want to kill people with that song being played.

It's probably because most of those images have been digitally enhanced. That plus the plastic surgery and caked on make-up do give her an other-wordly look. She would make a great alien in a movie.

I always wonder what people you see in ads look like in real life. I know someone who works in advertising here. She told me that her agency often digitally alters the faces of western models for print ads. They make them rounder and softer looking to be more appealing to the Japanese.
