Kyodo: Foreign workers in Japanese companies hit record high
The number of foreigners employed directly by Japanese companies stood at a record 222,929 as of June 1, 2006, up 24,549 from a year earlier, the government said Monday. The number is the highest since the government began collecting such data in 1993, the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry said.
