Quitting's easy. Staying quit is hard. I just went back on the Nicotine Patch again yesterday. I quit, then I caved in and started smoking again for the 4th time in a year.

I try to actively encourage smoking. The more cancer patients and less doddering 80-somethigns forcing every park into becoming a gate ball arena.

I worked with a guy who gave up smoking and one guy who gave up chewing tabacco. Small sample but the tabacco chewer was bouncing off the walls for a few days while the smoker ate everything in site and probably gained 10Kg.
The smoker went back to smoking a few but eventually gave up. The tabacco chewer had to quit for health reasons and he seemed OK after a week or two.
Nicotine, it's a hell of a drug.
