The ministry of education has just recommended history books for high schools concerning the battle of Okinawa have all reference to Okinawa's civilians being forced to commit suicide by the imperial Japanese army removed, even though survivors report the Japanese Imperial Army giving grenades to civilian women and children and ordering them to commit suicide.
So, now we are seeing that history is being rewritten by Abe to cleanse the stigma of the Japanese Imperial Army from history and this time Abe is doing it at the expense of the people of Okinawa and the memories of their loved ones forced to kill themselves by the Japanese Imperial Army.
Abe cited a court case that may become a new theory, where a former imperial army member has made a court claim that forced suicides were not ordered by the imperial army.
How the hell can a maybe budding theory by one individual plaintiff justify changing history books?
