My mother still has a original trinitron in her house. The tv still has a decent picture considering it is about 30 years old.

My father did the same and swore by them for the better part of three decades but I was a bit surprised that tone of 'we're Sony, so sit there, suck it and like it', a la blu-ray is absolutely necessary for the PS3 and 'it's not over priced, you just need to take on a second job' had been around for so long.
