Drugs + Alcohol = Great night out

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Sun Apr 29, 2007 2:18 pm

I'm on pain killers and muscle relaxers now but that didn't stop me from drinking way too much last night. No hang over but I feel very weird right now. Kind of shakey and light headed. Better go pop some more pills.

C'mon, SJ! We need more details. Why was it a good night out? What were you up to?

I never kiss and tell. The good part though is that was mid evening so after she took a cab home I put my jeans back on and headed out for some more drinks.

Now, you're on to it. Those are the important facts. It is not what you're up to, It's who you're up!

Yeah, good for an entry in the Dead Gaijins thread for sure.

Vicodin is not a downer, it's an opiate. Flexceril is not a downer, it's a muscle relaxant. So I think you are fairly safe....just don't get hooked on those bad boys. ;)

Mixing any two or more drugs, and alcohol being considered a drug, is extremely dangerous.

I'm not sure if that's true 100% of the time (though I'd never mix without asking a doctor). That being said, IkemenTommy is spot on in this case, if the drug in question is Vicodin.

http://www.drugs.com/vicodin.html
What is the most important information I should know about Vicodin?
Do not take Vicodin with alcohol, other narcotic pain medications, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxers, or other medicines that can make you sleepy or slow your breathing. Dangerous side effects may result.

Do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you drink more than three alcoholic beverages per day or if you have had alcoholic liver disease (cirrhosis). You may not be able to take medication that contains acetaminophen.

Don't doctors tell patients this stuff when they prescribe the medication? For God's sake, Sam, be careful! You're definitely much more fun active on the forum than in the Dead Gaijin thread.

Maybe we should add a new recipe, "The Samurai Jerk: vicodin and shō]FG Cocktails[/url] thread. :-)

Yeah, I did that two days in a row and felt really fucked up. I've decided to stop drinking while I'm on meds. I really just need to stop drinking period. I'm getting back up to that point where I polish off a whole bottle of booze in one night and DON'T get a hangover. Never a good sign.

Maybe we should start an FG dead pool. I nominate myself as the member most likely to kick the bucket this year.

I think in most necks-of-the-woods opiates are considered 'downers'.

I used to make light of it like that until I got a big scare. The thing is there's a good chance you won't die but instead find yourself ploding through life feeling like you just ate a gallon of horseshit all-the-time because you blew out your kidneys or your liver started to malfunction.

I remember coming into Japan a few years ago and landed straight into GP Roppongi. I was recovering from a motrcycle accident and needless to say the doctor was very generous with the 'flight assistants'. As it happened, one of the bar girls was very attentive to my stash and I proceeded to make a few trades for shots. She musta put away enough meds to crank a horse! Finally I ran out of my ready stash and had to resort to the travelling kit - which basically consisted of herbal laxative and ibuprofen. Figuring she'd had enough of the anti-inflammetories, muscle relaxants, co-vicodins, etc - i traded my last shot for a couple of herbal laxatives. This was one totally looped j-girl! And now she had a belly full of lax!! We got out of there and I actually got an email from her later thanking me for the wonderful 'gifts'. I never heard (nor asked) if she had any, er, supplemental experiences ....

The moral - don't keep asking for shots when there's less than 2 of any kind in his hand. Muscle relaxants and laxative only add up to one thing!
See you in PyonPyang!

I told the doctor I'd only take them for two weeks max and then we'll trying something else if the problem hasn't been solved. I hate taking muscle relaxers especially.

Something good to share

Postby tidbits » Wed May 09, 2007 9:14 pm

I thought I will just post here instead of starting a new thread.

For muscles pain, I find the product of Phiten is really good. This is something I have tried myself and it REALLY works. I didn't take any of their health supplement, but just put on the accessories(/T shirt), lotion and tapes. If your pain is quite severe, put on the lotion first before putting the tape. I am not promoting for them, but these product are really good and I am just sharing.
