Waiting? Why aren't you out there looking?

Sorry but as an employer I don't like to hear that somebody is waiting for opportunities to fall into their laps. Get out there, talk to people, build your network, offer yourself as an intern at a company that you respect, get registered with head-hunters, go to seminars.. all of these things cost you no money at all but will allow you to find opportunities more than just searching on job-web-boards.

Try working at a Japanese company in the U.S. first maybe.

There are going to be two openings coming up in the IT dept at Honda. I'll let you know when they open. One guy got fired and another may soon be.

Yes. I did.

Also Honda hires from outsourcing companies as well. A lot of their employees are NOT U.S. citizens.

At work I hear:
English, Japanese, French, German, Hindi, Russian, Chinese, Vietnamese

Thanks AK.

Hokuto, I still live in the U.S. I was just stating that it might be easier to work in Japanese firm in your home country FIRST so that you at least have it on your resume.

I think that is a good idea but not for myself. I already live in Japan, have a visa and ready to go. Just need a bit of luck I think.

If I had a chance back home to work for a Japanese company I would have, but there are very few Japanese companies and they were in the capital which was not near to my place. If I was from the US I think I would have had a greater chance to work for a Japanese company. It sounds like a great way of getting started.

Anyway, thanks for the advice :)
