sure, but having good japanese and being a good learner are two very different things. a good learner will, in time, improve; a bad learner will become jaded. i doubt that he cares his japanese sucks. in fact for a good learner, knowing that it does will likely motivate him/her to improve. it's by far the attitude one has while here that will make all of the difference.
