Visa renewal and unpayed taxes

Postby dreg » Fri May 25, 2007 1:16 am

Hi
My work visa (which expired yesterday) is being renewed from a new sponsor. I didn't do my tax returns in January since quitting my last job in October (who sponsored me for the one which just expired). I never got a letter requesting that I fill out my tax returns, but have just learnt that it was supposed to be done in January.

The immigration bureau have said they will give me my reply by June 3rd (I am going on holiday June 6th). I haven't mentioned anything to them about the tax, and haven't payed national health insurrance for a few months.

What do you think is going to happen, will they reject the application? Should I go and pay everrything tomorrow, give them a call?

Thanks in advance

You should have received a statement from your employer about the PAYE tax paid by your previous employer. That should be sufficient.

I hadn't put in a tax return for years (as my previous kuyukusho didn't ever send me the forms) and I am not in National Health and I never had a problem renewing visas.

Depends on the visa love. Ya definately need tax statements for permanent residence and others sometimes will call for a copy of last year's statement. Butl, again that is not all visa categories.

BTW, have I told you lately that I am in to muppets and goats? You're probably safe as I have an allergy against rope skipping dragons!
Your turn!

I did not need tax statements for my permanent residence application which I got 3 years ago. Just as well as I had never paid any ward tax.

I think I was just lucky in the immigration office.
