unfucked sake?

Postby kotatsuneko » Sat Mar 29, 2003 12:36 am

hey i know nothing about the stuff....

so how bout some reccomendations on the real deal?

as in naturally brewed sake, not the stuff with industrial alcohol added..

i seem to remember that the sadly departed Alan Booth was something of an expert on the subject, but my books of his are back in blighty...

cheers!

I've had some damn good stuff from my father-in-law... I'll ask him tomorrow what he poured for me. No nasty aftertaste... like good wine but with a rice-flavor.

probably the best brand (according to my japanese friends, and books, and myself) would be MASUMI. from Suwa, Nagano. a little bit expensive sometimes, but found everywhere and hardcore traditional old fashioned top quality excellent taste no hangover beautiful in mouth sake.

I find anything from Niigata is great stuff. Also recommend sake from Momokawa based in Aomori. (esp. the ginjo class sakes).

AKA ONI of Nigaka-ken is the best price/performance(under 6,000yen).

I left Hachinohe in July 2000.

I'm getting ready to go back.

I lived in Aomori-shi (that was back in the early 90s). Life is much better in Hachinohe . . . . . . . .

Do you remember the dance club in Hachinohe called Pache Du?

It closed after the owner hung himself.

How much do you know about the club seen in that area?
