It's a little short sighted of the creator to target Aussies just because there happens to be footage of them on YouTube. You get assholes like that wherever you go, it just seems a lot worse in Japan because they get away with it.

Yeah but in "the west" (London for instance) these are usually somewhat intimidating leary drunks, i.e. usually they give people the impression that they'd easily beat the life out of you if you give them reason to. The guys in those vids aren't the "I'll do yer head in!" type at all. I can't imagine any westerner being intimidated by that bunch, they seem to be just taking advantage of the average Japanese persons' inability to say fuck off when it's needed.

for example, if I talk on the train on my phone, people will tell me to be quiet - but if I am DRUNK and talk on my phone, it's somehow OK - and people will forgive me because I am drunk.

People are forgiven for being stupid in Japan, but as soon as you start showing intelligence they expect you to behave. Guess which is more fun? Pretending to be stupid or trying to be responsible? Which one is rewarded? You guessed it....

I have met many nationalities with this sort of behaviour in and out of Japan, they are more noticed in Japan because its taking place in a very different culture and different to the way locals behave.

These videos make me cringe and many Aussies can be like this, esp when you think that most aussies in Japan are going to be just out of Uni and of working holiday etc. being that age makes them more likely to act that way.

This type of Anti-social behaviour from (some) Aussies is embarrasing/rude/stupid and offensive..however usually harmless.

The Japanese have their poor record overseas too, I would say rampant sex tours to Korea/China (and everywhere else) are far more offensive and harmful!
