OK Wave, claiming to be the "No.1 FAQ Company" is launching OK World in Japanese, Chinese, English and Korean. The site claims to have "Abundant Living Information for foreigners in Japan". Not so far: some information is up already but the English and Korean versions are due to open on July 25th.
Essentially, it looks like users will ask questions and hope that someone will reply. The angle the service is hoping to add is that questions and answers in, say, Korean will be made available in the other languages (presumably machine translated since there is no mention on the site about a team of translators).
The company appears to be working with an NPO called Information Centre for Foreigners in Japan. The main thing this NPO should probably do is let people know they exist. Perhaps everybody else has heard of them but I can't recall coming across them before even though they started in 1995.
