The Rise Of The Toyboy

Postby Mulboyne » Mon Jul 23, 2007 8:43 am

[floatr]Image[/floatr]Entertainment reporters have been bowled over by the news that popular singer Rumiko Koyanagi appears to have married actor Masataka Ishibashi. The main point of interest is that Koyanagi is 55 while Ishibashi is 27 years her junior. The morning news reported that his mother says she hasn't heard about the marriage. Short Japanese article here. There has been a lot of discussion recently about relationships between older women and younger men. A woman recently wrote on the Yomiuri Komachi page (Japanese) about her 25 year old son's plans to marry a 44 year old single mother. She said she was too ashamed to tell her friends and family and asked what she could do to dissuade her son from such a bad match. The post has drawn 200 replies, many telling the mother that she is being selfish, thinking more about her social position rather than her son's happiness. Other respondents agree that while the story might make a great TV drama, the reality must be horrific and recommend she get a detective on the job immediately.

Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

403 errors

I found the pics. How old are those pics I wonder. And yes, she has always been a hottie in my eyes. Same with the lady here whose name I cannot remember. She has always been one of those older J women that I just thought was a good lookin lady.

Shit, just the other morning I looked over to realize I'm married to a 40-year-old Japanese chick. How the hell did that happen? Guess it kind of snuck up on me over the last 15 years...

The line above it says Asano Atsuko, age 14 ????
At any rate, I'd hit it and run for cover!

BTW, the one on the left is Nomura Yuka, which I would also hit!

Damn, I don't blame these women - who wants to marry a dirty old Oyaji??? Am sure there are stylish and elegant older men out there, but rarely do you see them. (OMG am I turing into Charisma chick? My man is much younger than me and most of my friends are with younger men too. Are we all turning into Charisma chicks?)

Jailbait – if you have to go to prison, at least you can go happy. :p
Mr Kobayashi: First, I experienced a sort of overpowering feeling whenever I was in the room with foreigners, not to mention a powerful body odor coming from them. I don't know whether it was a sweat from the heat or a cold sweat, but I remember I was sweating whenever they were around.

Well, this poster is from 1998 and she was 14 then so she is about 23 now. Perfectly legal.

Though she is not near as cute as she used to be. It's a shame how sometimes a really cute youngster does not turn out as good looking as one might think they would (male and female).

BTW, I've been searching, but I cannot find this drama on DVD. I've searched online in English and Japanese at Amazon. Does Japan release its TV series on DVD like the US does?
And what about older ones?

Well, those marriage rumours have been widely denied now and much of the media speculation has turned to why the two might want publicity right now.

It's more common for younger women to marry older men but one famous instance is Mika Mifune, daughter of actor Toshiro Mifune by his mistress, who married a 40 year singer George Takahashi when she was 16. I remember reading that factoid on the rather eccentric website of Robert Red-Baer who used to work at Mifune's short-lived acting school. He is now an English instructor. I half had the idea of making a post about his site but never got around to it. Looking at it again, I realize that we have probably all seen Mr Red-Baer recently without knowing it. He is the struggling foreigner in this NOVA commercial:

Anyone ever seem the whipped cream bench version which he storyboards at the bottom of the page here? It was apparently broadcast in January of this year.
