Protests turn violent in Australia and Spain
Protests against the war in Iraq continued around much of the world today, with demonstrators turning violent in Australia and Spain, and defacing in France a pre-eminent American symbol: a replica of the Statue of Liberty.

Some of the largest rallies and bitterest clashes have come in Australia and Spain, whose governments support the American-led war, though the recent number of protesters has not matched the turnouts just before or immediately after the outbreak of war.

The Basque Nationalist Party spokesman, Inaki Anasagasti, suggested in the Spanish Parliament on Tuesday that Juan Carlos had made himself a "figurehead for ceremonies" by refusing to stand apart from the government line. This, Spanish news reports said, was an "unprecedented attack" on the king, who has limited himself to expressing "great concern" about the war and hoping for its quick end.

"We are talking about people throwing bottles and excrement, smashing windows, writing insulting graffiti," an exasperated Javier Arenas, secretary-general of the party, told reporters. "What type of pacifism are we talking about?"

These so called peacniks are misnamed.

They have found a cause they want to throw themselves behind.

People around the world are oppressed.

Look at the world after 9/11.

A lot of so called democratic nations held many secret assemblies and passed secret laws in order to "combat terrorism". Broader search and seizure laws. Broader wiretapping laws. Imprisonment without trial laws.

The technology for computers to identify the faces of people on public video cameras and notifying athourities when a match is found. More and more public video cameras going up every day. Police linking into security cameras around the country. i.e. ATM machines and combini.

Corporations becoming larger (The rise of the Mega-corps like in the Shadowrun games) and little small business being swallowed up. If you own it, you can control it. Corporations having more rights and paying less tax than individuals per capita. More and More the government is actually being run by these companies via powerful lobbies and campaign funds.

Sub dermal implants capable of tracking people via a GPS signal. Also able to be used as identichips.
Electronic money. Soon, cash will be phased out and unless you are "legal" one wont be able to buy or sell. Unless you are a member of the party, you cant buy or sell.

Look how credit histories are used and abused.

Europe having one currency. The less types of currency there are, the easier it is to control how people use it.

Big Brother is the forerunner of the Antichrist.

When he arrives on the seen, all hell will break loose. He will seem like an extremely competent worldwide leader and a man of peace, but he will be the Devil in disguise and will deceive the whole world at first and then will be the most ruthless dictator in the history of the human race.

You had me until this sentence.. but then Revelations was always too scarey for me to read and a bit too much for my tiny mind..

Orwell I can handle..

BTW Big Brother was the all pervasive super computer in George Orwell's "1984". A good read...

Revelation is usually too much for most. It was written by a man who saw the future (supposedly) in the past, so of course it's a bit abstract. For instance, the writer talks of fire from the sky. Back then, that was imaginable. Now days, we've got satellite guided missiles. He talks about dragonfly's breathing fire(or something like that). Imagine what a helicopter looked like to someone living 2000 years ago. Not saying that he DID see the future, but if he did, it'd be a bit abstract to say the least.

well,
what if he was just tripping on some kind of natural drug from some plant that he'd eaten on his trip to enlightenment... and all these revalations were just hallucinations creeping up from something he ingested.. over the course of a few years?
:D

Imagine if he was on shrooms or something close to that.. oh the possibilities of a mind turned loose on some killer shit :D

Could be shrooms, but a lot of "prophecy" has come true. I'm no longer a devout christian, but I do find revelations to be kinda cool.
