It is common for pop culture images to be appropriated in the art world so there is no real accusation here of plagiarism. What has surprised them, though is that a standard price for this kind of work as seen on her dealer's website is AUD$4,400, leading many to believe that she is following the career of Takashi Murakami in making a mint by taking manga obsessions mainstream.
