Does ordering Pizza have to be a chore?

Postby Phoenix_stu » Thu Aug 09, 2007 6:47 pm

I swear, if japanese people didn't have instructions on how to do something they wouldn't even know how to wipe their own ass.

I am a fairly big fan of Pizza Hut, since the other's just don't seem to be up to par.
I haven't ordered for about a month now and so I decided to order one tonight. I usually order the Super Supreme as the others with all of the nonsense japanese style toppings don't really interest me. As I was placing my order I found out that they don't offer the Super Supreme anymore. Shocked with disbelief as this is one of Pizza Huts trademarks par say. I looked for something that may be a good substitution. Well, I found one however, I noticed that there were no black olives. When I asked to add some olives, they said that they don't offer black olives anymore. ?!?!?!?! What the hell is this all about. Is this Pizza Hut or what? After a short argument with my wife on how stupid this was(as I don't have anyone else to vent to), I cancelled my order.

Sooo, a bit peeved and disappointed, we figured to give Pizza-la a shot as I am not a big fan of Domino's.

Upon looking at their menu, we decided on a half and half. The wife decided to order the ebi-mayo and I decided on the spicy italian. Well, get ready for it....They can't do that combination?!?!?!?
Eh...I asked why. Their reason(so typical of someone with only a picture of a pizza on how to make it)was...
If I want to mix the two, they have to be in a certain series. ??? In other words if I want the Spicy Italian and half of something else, I have to order something from the "Italian series" and the ebi-mayo was not in the "Italian series".
What kind of B.S. is this?
I mean come on people. Why in the hell can't you mix the two. I will tell you why....Because it is not on a piece of paper on how to do it and at the minute of asking something like this, everyone panics. What to do, what to do. It's not on the paper, we don't know how to do it.

When will Japanese people ever learn to think for themselves??? This is rediculous.

Whew, I feel better now.

I think the mixing thing on a half and half has something to do with the first layer of sauce that is used. It is put on the whole base and then the toppings are done half and half.

But I use this really amazing delivery service for food.. http://demae-can.com/

Just put your address in and it will tell you what places in your neighbourhood deliver to you, how long the delivery will take and on-line menus for each shop etc. Then you just make your selection from the store you like and they deliver to your door and you pay the driver. Easy.

It is organised into Pizza, curry, japanese, sushi, bentos, ethnic etc etc etc. You can also get other stuff delivered like groceries - but I have only ever used it for food. It is an amazing service. No phone calls with spotty freeters who are not interested in customer service.

I just thought I'd point out that it is possible to make your own pizza from scratch. It really isn't that hard. And you can put whatever you like on it.

You might like Costco's pizza. If you are near a Costco you should definitely go, if not you can order through The Flying Pig.

I just ordered some pizza online after you all started to talk about pizza damn... Anyway we will see if it gets to my house.

I live a few minutes from COSCO in Fukuoka about 5 minute drive, the pizza is fantastic compared to the pizza I've eaten from the delivery places here in Japan. Yuk! Man. I miss New York and Chicago pizza :wall:

I ordered Pizza Pocket once, ordered like 4 different pizzas to see which one I would like, they where hideous, so was the prices. I think the major problem in my opinion is Japan and mozzarella cheese. Simply horrible.

They don't. They use the tried and tested washlet. :D

I cooked my own pizza once. I think it would be next to Pb in the periodic table if it were an element. Mighty dense.

You know, bitching aside, it's not that much of a chore to order pizzas in Japan.

As for the half and half thing, it is as said elsewhere possibly to do with the sauce, but it also can be to do with the bread/base as well. Some pizzas come as a set base and sauce, so doing a "half and half" from the menu can be hard. But you can always customise. It's all in how you phrase it.

As for pizza hut not having olives... so? This is Japan. Even the olives that are available to buy here are either generic beyond belief or else expensive. That's just the way it is. The Pizza Hut you were ordering from was in Japan, right? :wink4:

I mean, it's not like you go into McDonald's and get outraged about them not having the McOz with beetroot or whatever here in Japan:

"Where's the Fuckin' beetroot, you fuckin' stupid moron? What, you don't fuckin' have it? Most people don't fuckin' ask for it? You bunch of robot fuckwits! Probably can't even wipe your own ass! What are you looking at, ass-wipe? Go out and fuckin' buy a can and put it on my burger? They don't sell it here?"

"What!?!?!?!?! What do you mean 'this is Japan'? Are you fuckin' ignorant!?! Well, do you have the new "homestyle beef", at least?..."

"What am I talking about? What are you talking about? You're a fucking racist! Fuckin' Japanese can't do my culture the way I want it in spite of living in Japan. Fuckin' racist cunts".

That took way too long to type. I want my life back!

Just got my pizza from demae-can.com.

They came pretty quick. Kinda funny, I misread the Japanese when ordering my pizza and I accidentally ordered 1/2 cheese and 1/2 sausage :) The pizza was pretty good just kinda small and over priced as usual but unusually good.

The reason I like demae is that if you don't know what sort of food you want, you can surf around for a while to see what whets the whistle.. and also which stores are still delivering etc. We often order Indian from our local place. Wish they could add a Thai place that delivers in my neighbourhood.

All you want to do is bitch about something that is Japanese. What you say and complaint about makes no sense. First, try to get half-and-half pizza at Costco and then tell me about it. Good luck because they wont even do it but that's okay because it's American right? Pizza la gives you the ability to order half-and-half so that two people may share a pizza and yet you find a way to complaint about it without thinking. GG gave you a reason why those two can't be mixed.

So suddenly Pizza -La which gives you the chance to split a pizza is a bitchy whitchy organisation because it's Japanese and Costco which does not even do what you want is a "great pizza" because it's American.

American pizza (like all things American) are the gold standard by which all others are judged. An American chef even won the Italian pizza championship.

I agree. Football, or "soccer" is a girly sport. However, americans tend to play "american football" which is also for pussies. The players are covered in protective gear from head to toe. Why not play a manly sport such as Rugby or Australian Football...I am sure that you'd be man enough to play Australian Football, Charles. Right?

Agreed, I wish rugby would catch on in the states. But the average rugby player is 184cm tall and 95kg heavy. The average NFL'er is 187 and 111kg. They'd probably hurt themselves without all that extra padding. BTW, what is Australian football?

Quite the contrary Jack "ass"! There are many things here that I love or else I would not be here! Lest you forget, I choose to be here. Yes, there are a few and only a few things that I complain about.
This thread is really a joke, true, but none the less, a joke. Simply put on this board to see what the comments would be.
I think you are taking it way to seriously.
Also, the post that you quoted me on, I never complained about costco you moron. Read what you decide to post on.
Anyway, I don't have time to debate with you. Also, if you don't like what I post, DON'T READ IT!!!
